🐘💥 How to Make Elephant Toothpaste! 💥🐘
Elephant Toothpaste is a fun science experiment that creates a foamy explosion using simple ingredients. Here’s how you can do it:
What You’ll Need:
- Hydrogen Peroxide (3% or higher)
- Dish Soap
- Food Coloring (optional)
- Dry Yeast
- Warm Water
- A Plastic Bottle
- Tray or container to catch the foam
Instructions:
- Set Up: Place your bottle in the center of a tray or container to catch the overflow.
- Mix Hydrogen Peroxide & Soap: Pour about 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide into the bottle. Add a few squirts of dish soap and gently swirl the mixture. If you want colorful foam, add a few drops of food coloring along the inside walls of the bottle.
- Prepare the Yeast Solution: In a separate cup, mix a packet of dry yeast with warm water (about 3 tablespoons) and stir until it dissolves.
- Get Ready for the Reaction! Quickly pour the yeast mixture into the bottle with hydrogen peroxide and step back!
What Happens: A rapid chemical reaction breaks down the hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen gas. The dish soap traps the oxygen, creating a ton of foamy bubbles that look like toothpaste squeezing out of a giant tube! 🦷🌋
Safety Note: This experiment is safe with 3% hydrogen peroxide, but always wear safety glasses and avoid contact with eyes and skin. For stronger peroxide (like 6% or 12%), adult supervision is a must!
